I’m a dreamer.
Cartoons and video games probably had some influence early on. Then it was good people who were far more influential than they probably realized.
I graduated from Nixa High School and pursued a degree in Bible and Student Ministry at Moody Bible Institute in the heart of downtown Chicago. During that time I worked as a greeter at EXPRESS for women on Michigan Ave, a Campus Crusade volunteer, a sales assistant for a really high end furniture store, a valet for various clubs, an overnight desk worker for my school, a land mortgage writer, a personal assistant for an elderly couple, a street rep for a jeweler, and an occasional public speaker for schools and churches. I also dabbled in collegiate soccer, class presidency, acting, mission trips, internships, starting a youth conference with a group of friends, and causing trouble…lots of trouble.
Now, you’ll find me hanging out with a group of students at an extension campus of Christ Community Church, pursuing my passion for good design, hanging out with my roommates, exploring the city, or kicking back with a really cute brunette (Kik) who has totally won my heart.
I am driven by my desire for life and for others to live life as it was meant to be lived–in relationship with a loving God.
I am inspired by God’s Word, by creativity, by watching people, by feats of love, by unique communication, by children, by stories, and by those who have sought change and found God.
I am humbled by my faults, by those who do great things with very little, by those who have the courage to be themselves despite the thoughts of others, by those who speak truth even when it’s difficult.
I am moved by creation in all its forms, by the human ability to communicate through color, photography, illustration, moving pictures, sound, construction, technology, words, food, and movement.
I am encouraged by fresh communication, written words, thoughtfulness, good conversation, good cooking, details, kindness.
I am dreaming about using design and other forms of creativity to inspire change, bringing God’s Word to life to a variety of age groups, developing environments where true community takes place, finding new ways to help the poor, needy, afflicted, oppressed, thirsty, and (simply put) changing the world.
